Samurai Sword of Date Masamune
Date Masamune was one of leading Daimyo in the Tohoku region of Japan. At the age of 18 - he succeeded his father - Date Terenmue - when he retired from the position of numbedaimyo. Shortly afterwards a Date retainer named Ouchi Sadatsuna defected to the Ashina of the Aizu region. On that - Masamune declared war on the Ashina for his betrayal. When he marched on the Ashina - his army was halted at Hibara by the general Iwashiro Morikuni and was forced to retreat. This awesome collectible sword features the crest of this great ruler which also includes a crystal display stand and title card with story. The sword meaures 40 inches overall and 38.5 inches without the scabbard. The blade is made out of 440 stainless steel measuring 27.5 inches long. The handle is cordwrapped which features an oxidized copper tusba with an embossed image of the ruler. -- $74.95
