Norman Helmet
Norman Helmet -Circa 1050-1100 The Normans not only conquered England and Sicily - they fought all through the Mediterranean lands and in the Crusades. This conical helmet has been called ''Norman'' because it was popular with them and also well-illustrated in the Bayeux Tapestry depiction of the Norman Conquest of England. This helmet provided a glancing surface to blows and was light - airy and comfortable - important features for warriors wearing them for days on end. Based on an original helmet from Central Europe. The nasal is reinforced with a central ridge. This helmet is made from 18 guage steel. -- $99.98
